Brookfield, Virginia plans to add a new e-cigarette store licensing system

Jan 25, 2024

According to a report by WVVA in 2024, Bluefield, Virginia, plans to hear opinions from citizens on Wednesday evening regarding the addition of a new e-cigarette store licensing system. The countermeasures discussed by the town government stem from the public's concern about the diverse number of e-cigarette sales points in the region.
Blufield Town Manager Andrew Hanson stated that if changes occur, merchants need to explain their business plans to the town's planning committee and council before deciding whether the merchant can obtain a license.
Hansen said, "If you come here for legitimate reasons to do business, that's not a problem. They have the right to run their own business, but we need to have stricter control over what they sell and where they sell in town to ensure that not every empty shop turns into an e-cigarette, tobacco, or cigarette store."
