Morocco plans to increase the import tax on disposable e-cigarettes from 2.5% to 40% in 2024

Morocco will increase the import tax on electronic products to protect domestic industrial development, and the import tax on disposable electronic cigarettes will be increased from 2.5% to 40%.
According to Marrakechalaan, according to a memorandum published on the official website of the Moroccan Ministry of Finance, the Moroccan fiscal draft for 2024 is expected to significantly increase the import tax on disposable e-cigarettes, which will increase from 2.5% to 40%.
The draft also proposes to increase import tariffs, including some consumer products and equipment, from 2.5% to 30%, in order to increase the fiscal revenue of the national public budget.
According to the memorandum, these measures will strengthen and protect the domestic production of these products and equipment, and further promote the localization of production in Morocco.
