What are the main components of vape oil?

There is an increasing discussion about e-cigarettes, and consumers mostly focus on which brand of e-cigarettes to use and which flavor of cigarettes are better for smoking. If you want to use it with confidence, you must have a good understanding of electronic cigarette oil. Today, let's learn about the composition and function of tobacco oil together.
Electronic cigarette oil is mainly composed of these four components: glycerol (VG), propylene glycol (PG), spices, and nicotine. Here is a detailed introduction to the functions of these four ingredients:
Glycerin (VG)
VG, also known as VG, is a common drug and food additive commonly used in making desserts such as cakes and chocolates. It has no side effects on the human body, is colorless and odorless, and is highly hygroscopic, but rather viscous. Therefore, it slightly increases the difficulty of cleaning the atomizer and reduces the oil transfer speed of the core (relatively easy to dry burn/paste). VG can be directly extracted from vegetable oil, coconut oil, and palm oil, heated to high temperature, and then distilled for purification. So the USP food grade vegetable glycerol used in regular e-cigarettes has a purity of 99.7% and 0.3% water.
Propylene glycol (PG)
Also known as PG, it is used to dilute the viscosity of VG. Hygroscopic, slightly sweet, colorless and odorless, with flowability similar to water. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) describes PG as "generally safe for human health" (referring only to ingestion) and is a common drug and food additive. PG has good oil conductivity and produces a "small amount of smoke" and a "throat strike" similar to smoking.
PG has been confirmed by FDA research to be classified as a safe additive (referring only to ingestion), although it is also one of the benchmark materials for antifreeze, commonly used in the field of antifreeze and food and beverage with special requirements. Although PG is generally safe, there are still a small number of people who may experience mild allergic symptoms, such as throat discomfort, phlegm, dizziness, etc. These side effects are relatively brief and mild.
However, the FDA's statement is actually "Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS)", which refers to "ingestion". Other methods such as inhalation, injection, or local use are not within the scope of GRAS! Therefore, the safety of aerosols produced by electronic cigarettes after atomizing the cigarette oil is not within the scope of FDA guarantee.
Artificial or natural essence
In addition to the tobacco flavor, various natural edible spices can also be used to create complex and varied flavors, such as fruits, desserts, beverages, and other flavors.
nicotine
Nicotine is an addictive substance. Compared to tobacco, the nicotine content in tobacco oil has been confirmed to be within the safe range for human consumption. Of course, there are also nicotine free tobacco oils sold in the market.
