Indonesian Electronic Cigarette Industry Association Jointly Calls On The Public To Treat Legitimate Brands Reasonably And Actively Promote The Risks And Benefits Of Substitutes

To prevent the abuse of illegal e-cigarettes, the Indonesian e-cigarette Industry Association calls on the public not to belittle legitimate e-cigarette companies. The association cooperates with government departments to carry out preventive actions and accept public complaints.
According to Lifestyle, an Indonesian news website, on November 13th, in order to prevent the abuse of illegal e-cigarettes circulating in the market, the Indonesian Personal Atomizer Industry Association (APVI) and other legitimate companies in the e-cigarette industry are making efforts.
APVI Secretary General Garindra Kartasasmita called on the public not to belittle legitimate and legal entities in the e-cigarette industry.
He added that this is to prevent the abuse of alternative tobacco products such as e-cigarettes, nicotine bags, or heated tobacco products by user groups.
In the past few years, APVI has collaborated with the Indonesian National Office of Drugs and Crime (BNN), the General Administration of Taxation and Customs of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Indonesian National Police (Poli) to carry out a campaign to prevent electronic cigarette abuse.
At the same time, APVI has established a special working group to closely monitor its members and receive public complaints about the abuse of illegal e-cigarette products.
Meanwhile, Paido Siahaan, Chairman of the Akvindo Consumer Association in Indonesia, explained that he is actively promoting the risk profile and benefits of alternative tobacco products to the public.
