Krakow City Government in Poland Revokes Regulations On Smoking Free Areas in Public Places City Councillors Call For Strengthening Enforcement And Citizen Education

Krakow abolished the smoke-free zone law and allowed smoking in public places; Citizens have reported that the smoke-free zone law has become a "dead clause", and city councilors have proposed to launch a smoke-free zone education campaign.
According to Eska on November 8th, the government of Krakow, Poland, has decided to abolish the regulations on the establishment of smoke-free zones.
Since 2009, the Krakow Municipal Government has made multiple changes to relevant regulations to prohibit smoking in public places, including bus and rail transit stations, children's playgrounds, parks, etc.
But recently at the municipal government meeting, the law on establishing smoke-free areas in public places within the administrative boundary of Krakow City was abolished, and all relevant provisions, including the prohibition of the use of electronic cigarettes and other tobacco products, were also abolished.

Citizens believe that this violation is rarely exposed by city guards, and the violators have not received any punishment, making the relevant regulations in smoke-free areas almost a "dead clause". Therefore, it is worth considering educational actions to expand citizens' understanding of smoke-free zone regulations.
