The COP 10 Global Tobacco Control Conference was originally planned to be held in Panama, but due to safety issues, it was postponed and changed to an online format, prohibiting industrial representatives from participating. The tobacco industry is concerned that this may hinder the standardization and development of e-cigarettes.
Recently, according to Brazilian media Glooral, after the postponement of the 10th Conference of the Parties to the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (COP10), event organizers may hold an online conference.
The COP 10 Global Tobacco Control Conference was originally scheduled to be held in Panama, but was postponed due to safety issues in the country.
In a circulated internal statement, the tenth session of the Conference of the Parties called on leaders to hold online discussions from November 23rd to 24th, but did not disclose the specific agenda. The organizer still reserves the idea of personally hosting another forum, but a date has not been determined yet.
The main topic of the conference is the standardization of electronic cigarettes. The tobacco industry believes that the use of electronic cigarettes should be regulated to provide safe products and bring taxes to the government.
