Does electronic cigarette belong to tobacco? Is electronic cigarette a cigarette?
Apr 16, 2022
The electronic cigarette was invented in 2003. Its principle is to atomize the cigarette oil containing nicotine at high temperature, so that smokers can inhale the smoke and achieve the effect of "relieving addiction". From the perspective of smoking itself, the biggest difference of the electronic cigarette is that it no longer needs to light cigarettes, and as long as the cigarette oil and electricity are not consumed, smokers can take out the electronic cigarette anytime and anywhere.
With a variety of tastes and shapes, electronic cigarettes with a sense of technology and fashion have been sought after as soon as they appear. According to insiders, there are three main categories of e-cigarettes at present: heated non combustible tobacco products, electronic atomization systems containing nicotine, and electronic atomization systems without nicotine.
Among them, the electronic atomization system containing nicotine is the mainstream type in China, that is, the electronic cigarette oil containing nicotine or perfume solution is transformed into a smoking vapor cigarette oil type electronic cigarette through atomization.
Many consumers said they were "not sure" whether e-cigarettes belong to the category of tobacco. The reporter learned that there are three global orientations for e-cigarettes: ordinary consumer goods, tobacco products required by tobacco legislation and regulatory standards, and pharmaceutical products required by pharmaceutical regulatory technical standards.
According to the revised tobacco monopoly law in 2015, tobacco monopoly commodities refer to cigarettes, cigars, cut tobacco, etc. Electronic cigarettes are not included.
People who make e-cigarettes say that e-cigarettes are substitutes for traditional cigarettes and help to quit smoking. But in fact, there is no data to prove the impact of its popularity on the reduction of the number of smokers. Moreover, due to the existence of nicotine, most e-cigarettes are also addictive.
