Electronic Cigarettes Have Become The New Favorite Of Young Finnish People, And Parents Are Unaware Of This
Nov 27, 2023
【 News Summary 】 The use of electronic cigarettes among Finnish teenagers has surged, with over half of parents unaware. The police are concerned about the harm.
According to the latest report from Finland, the popularity of e-cigarettes among young people has become a worrying phenomenon.
According to Tiina Kuosa, a senior police officer in Eastern Finland, e-cigarettes containing heavy metals such as lead and copper, whether or not containing nicotine, may pose serious risks to the nervous system of young people and children.
According to reports, Finland's tobacco law stipulates that only people aged 18 and above can purchase and hold e-cigarettes, but there are still young people who raise usage fees by selling a single e-cigarette to their peers. At the same time, some parents are not aware of this phenomenon and may even mistake e-cigarettes for colored markers.
According to reports, a welfare survey conducted by the Finnish Capital Regional Health and Social Services Alliance (Keusote) shows that although the use of traditional tobacco is decreasing year by year, the use of e-cigarettes is exploding. Out of 660 teenagers in the Keusote region who use nicotine products, 94% have used or tried e-cigarettes.
