This public opinion survey is aimed at voters across the state, with 67% hoping to reduce tobacco use and ban flavored e-cigarette products.
A report from the Smokeless Children's Movement states that $5.33 billion in medical expenses in Michigan is caused by smoking, resulting in Medicaid expenses of $1.46 billion, which on average costs $1140 per household in tax expenses. It is expected that smoking will also have a negative impact on the economy, resulting in a loss of $11.5 in the state's productivity.
A formal vote may be held in 2024.
