Recently, according to the British Manchester Evening News, four counties in the Greater Manchester area are among the top ten in the ranking list of the "e-cigarette capital" in the UK. Bolton, Manchester, Salford and Stockport are the regions with the largest number of certified e-cigarette retailers.

According to reports, the phenomenon of minors smoking e-cigarettes is most severe in the northwest of the UK. Previously, the UK government announced plans to ban the sale of disposable e-cigarettes in England, Scotland, and Wales in response to the increasing trend of young people using e-cigarettes.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will implement a ban, which is expected to be implemented in 2025. The current law has strict restrictions on the amount of nicotine and e-liquid that disposable e-cigarettes can contain,

According to data from the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, e-cigarettes are the most common among teenagers in the northwest, with 7% of teenagers in the region frequently using e-cigarettes. The company also announced the top ten e-cigarette cities in the UK based on the per capita number of e-cigarette retailers in each region.

At the top of the list is Blackburn, with 27 registered e-cigarette retailers serving 119700 residents. The second ranked is Bolton, with 20.26 registered e-cigarette stores for every 100000 residents. Bolton has a total of 41 registered e-cigarette stores serving 2023.69 million residents.

Manchester ranked third, with 110 electronic cigarette stores, corresponding to 19.84 per 100000 residents. Salford ranks fifth with 14 registered e-cigarette stores, corresponding to 12.03 stores per 100000 residents. Stockport ranks sixth with 10.91 retailers per 100000 residents.

"In recent years, disposable e-cigarettes have become popular due to their convenience, portability, and low cost, attracting people who were unlikely to invest in purchasing complex e-cigarette devices. The new ban on disposable e-cigarettes should help prevent children from using e-cigarettes, while encouraging adults to switch to more sustainable alternatives such as refillable e-cigarettes."

"This study highlights which regions in the UK are most likely to be affected by the upcoming ban on the sale of disposable electronic cigarettes. Greater Manchester is welcomed by smokers because of its fair distribution of retailers, and Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester cities occupy the top three in the ranking. As the ban affects consumer behavior, existing retailers will adjust their products to adapt to new regulations, and the e-cigarette culture in these cities may undergo significant changes
